Any other questions?

Here you’ll find the most important information.

Payment and invoicing

Payment by credit card via Stripe. You’ll receive a proper invoice.

Processing runs through Stripe. Stripe acts as the seller of record and issues your invoice; the contract for the briefing itself is with us. Your bank statement will show SIGNALCHAIN.

The invoice shows a different name than your bank statement, and that shouldn’t worry you: it comes from the billing entity through which Stripe processes the sale – currently Link, LLC, a Stripe company, noted as “Sold through Link, LLC”. That’s the same seller as above, just under its billing name – and has nothing to do with the identically named payment feature “Link” that Stripe offers during checkout. This is standard practice for software as a service, not a stray charge.

The seller is Stripe (Link, LLC), not us – so what determines your VAT treatment isn’t your country of establishment, but solely whether you provide a valid VAT ID. With a VAT ID, the invoice shows 0 % VAT, noted as “Reverse Charge” – this applies equally to every EU business customer, including those established in Germany, because the seller itself is established outside the EU. You then owe the tax yourself and declare it in your own VAT return (§ 13b UStG, German VAT law). For businesses entitled to deduct input tax, this is a pass-through item. Small businesses under the German “Kleinunternehmer” scheme (§ 19 UStG) should talk to their tax advisor beforehand – they also owe the tax under the reverse-charge procedure, but cannot deduct it.

Payment is by credit card. We never see your card details – they stay with Stripe, and that’s the whole point of using a payment provider.

Provide your VAT identification number at checkout. Without it, the invoice cannot be set to reverse charge, and you’ll pay the full German VAT rate, which you would then have to reclaim afterwards. If your business doesn’t have a VAT ID, email us at sales@signalchain.eu – we’ll find a way.

What SignalChain does – and doesn’t do

So there’s no misunderstanding – not even in the paid version:

  • No advice. We provide an analysis with sources. What you do with it is your decision – we don’t recommend any action for a specific business.
  • No claim of completeness. We show prioritized risks and don’t claim to know every hazard or supply chain.
  • No substitute for official warnings. Where life or health is at risk, disaster-response authorities and weather services apply, not us.
  • No supplier data. We ask about regions, goods classes and corridors – never about supplier names, bills of materials, quantities or contracts. We don’t want them either.
Cancellation and unsubscribing

Cancelling SignalChain: monthly, effective at the end of the current billing period. The link is in every email – you don’t need to write to us or search for anything. One click, no follow-up questions, no retention offer. You can request complete deletion of your data separately at any time (privacy policy).

Already a customer and can’t find the email? Write to sales@signalchain.eu and we’ll cancel it manually – no follow-up questions.
