Purpose of SignalChain

SignalChain is an early-warning and information service for external operational, procurement, transport and supply-chain risks.

SignalChain analyses available information and data sources, assesses possible economic effects and prioritises developments that could become relevant for businesses.

SignalChain serves as an additional basis for information and decision-making. The service does not replace a company's own review, nor does it replace existing risk, security, emergency, procurement or monitoring systems.

No claim to completeness

SignalChain does not claim to recognise every hazard, event, supply chain, dependency or consequence.

The absence of a notice does not mean that no risk exists.

In particular, there is no guarantee that an event will be recognised before it has effects on a business, a supplier, a transport route, a market or a region.

Data and external sources

SignalChain processes information from external sources, in particular from authorities, public bodies, monitoring networks and other data providers.

Even with careful selection and processing, data and information may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, provisional, or subsequently changed or corrected.

SignalChain has no complete control over the accuracy, completeness, timeliness and permanent availability of external sources.

Wherever possible, the sources material to an assessment are named in the respective report, so that statements can be traced and verified.

Forecasts and assessments

Statements about possible future developments are forecasts and not factual assertions about future events.

An impact chain shown describes a possible economic consequence on the basis of the information available at the time.

No assurance and no guarantee is given that a forecast event will occur, will occur at a particular time, or that the effects shown will actually arise.

Likewise, a development may proceed faster, slower, more strongly, more weakly, or differently than assumed at the time of the assessment.

No individual professional advice

The information provided by SignalChain does not constitute, and does not replace, individual legal, tax, investment, insurance or other licence-requiring professional advice.

In particular, legal or regulatory information is presented exclusively in connection with possible economic effects. SignalChain does not carry out a legal review of a customer's specific individual case.

Business decisions

SignalChain provides information and assessments. The decision as to whether and which measures are taken, prepared or omitted on the basis of this information remains with the respective company.

In particular, the customer must itself assess whether a given piece of information is relevant to its specific operational situation and whether further information or professional advice is required.

No substitute for official warnings

SignalChain is not a warning or emergency service.

For dangers to life, limb, health, the environment or public safety, only the warnings, orders and information of the competent authorities and emergency services are authoritative.

In particular, SignalChain does not replace official warning systems, corporate emergency plans or legally mandated safety measures.

Relationship to the Terms and Conditions

The Terms and Conditions apply in addition to the use of SignalChain.

Insofar as provisions on performance, availability and liability are set out there, these are authoritative for the contractual relationship.
