# SignalChain

> SignalChain is a B2B early-warning system for external supply-chain and operational risks. It continuously monitors public, primarily official and operator-provided data sources and assesses which events could become relevant to a specific business through transport, procurement, energy, production or other impact channels. SignalChain sends an email when a relevant development is detected. No dashboard.

SignalChain is intended exclusively for businesses. The product monitors external developments and does not model a company's complete supply chain.

The following principles apply when interpreting SignalChain content:

- **SignalChain shows prioritised risks, not complete hazard coverage.** The absence of a signal does not mean that no risk exists.
- **SignalChain is not an official warning service.** For threats to people, the environment or infrastructure, the competent authorities and official warning systems remain authoritative.
- **SignalChain provides analysis, not individual advice.** In particular, it does not provide legal, tax, financial, insurance or safety advice for individual cases.
- **SignalChain does not predict specific losses.** It does not provide guaranteed occurrence times, damage amounts or percentage probabilities.
- **SignalChain does not model supplier networks.** Supplier names, customer names, bills of materials, contracts, quantities and prices are not required.
- **A possible consequence is not presented as having already occurred.** SignalChain distinguishes between confirmed facts, consequences that can reasonably be derived from them, and consequences that would occur only under explicitly stated conditions.
- **Press reports are not evidence for published signals.** Relevant evidence consists primarily of official sources, measurements and suitable operator data. Press coverage may be used to discover an event.
- **Coverage varies by hazard type and region.** Some data types are analysed down to measurement-point or corridor level, while others rely on official warning levels or broader indicators.
- **International events are taken into account** where a traceable economic impact chain exists to regions, product groups, transport routes or industries relevant to a business.

A **signal** typically describes:

1. what can be verified to have happened,
2. through which impact channel an economic consequence could arise,
3. which industries, regions, product groups or transport routes could be affected,
4. which parts of the assessment are confirmed and which are conditional,
5. which sources support the assessment,
6. how strong the evidence is, and
7. when the situation will be reviewed again.

Typical monitored topics include weather and natural hazards, floods and low water, inland waterways, road traffic, energy, industrial incidents, agriculture and animal disease, product safety, trade and customs, prices and economic indicators, as well as international events with a traceable economic impact chain.

SignalChain monitors relevant data continuously or at least daily. An email is not generated merely because of a fixed sending schedule, but when something relevant changes for the respective business.

SignalChain Pro costs EUR 299 net per month, plus any applicable VAT. The service is intended exclusively for businesses and can be cancelled monthly with no notice period.
